Medicaid is taking my daughters inheritance,house left to her by her grandmother in the State of Florida

My mother left her house to my daughter.Medicaid put a lien on the property.We were never told about the Medicaid recovery program. When she apply for Medicaid we were never told or when they did the yearly eligibility, she had Dementia. Now my daughter is faced with this problem.

My son is staying at my mothers house for about a year after her passing and he is disabled and just lost his job. Can Medicaid make my daughter put her brother out and make her sale the house, to pay the lien. The lien is more than what the house is worth.( Volusia County,Florida)
